4/21 Tip of the Day
Today's tip involves coupons again....since I looooove my coupons!
Whenever you get a bill in the mail (yuck) that comes with an envelope you don't need, save that envelope for your weekly shopping trip coupons. Just put it up on your fridge, and as you think of things you need, you can write your list on the envelope, and place the coupons you will be using into the envelope!
Have you checked out this weeks coupon swap yet?

4/20 Tip of the Day
In lieu of the first coupon swap, today's tip(s) has to do with coupons!
- Target will stack one Target coupon with one manufacturer coupon. It is cleary stated that way in their coupon policy, so if they give you trouble, ask to speak with a manager. However, I have never had a problem at the MQT Target
- ShopKo will NOT accept coupons printed offline
- Super One Foods will not honor any online coupons where you get something free
- USE THEM!
Now that you know those tips, go check out the Coupon Swap for this week!

4/19 Tip of the Day
Use reusable totes!
It's Earth Week/Month, and as someone who very much hopes for Lake Superior to be just as clean and beautiful for my daughter, I do what I can to help out the environment. So, stop getting all those bags at the store, and use reusable ones! A lot of stores will give you 5 cents or more off your total too, per bag!
Also, if you have lots of bags, reuse those too! Sometimes stores will give you a discount for reusing paper bags!

Swagbucks- updated!
A while back I told you about Swagbucks. Swagbucks is a search engine that rewards you for searching the web. It gives you answers from Google and Ask.com, so they are actual answers. With your earned Swagbucks, you can redeem them for all sorts of rewards, such as gift cards. A $5 Amazon.com gift card is only 450 Swagbucks, which only took me about 2 weeks to earn. There are lots of prizes, and also lots of sweepstakes as well.
It's really easy to do, and doesn't take much, if any effort. However, now that Swagbucks has changed things around, there are some tips I should give you.
It's really easy to do, and doesn't take much, if any effort. However, now that Swagbucks has changed things around, there are some tips I should give you.
- You get Swagbucks for joining. I think it's 30, but I could be wrong.
- There are LOTS of codes that get posted, especially on their blog.
- Download the toolbar. It's a simple toolbar, but you can also customize it to make it fancy. By having the toolbar, I earn anywhere from 1-3 Swagbucks a day. Plus, I search from the toolbar which then helps me earn more Swagbucks. Also, there is an "inbox" from TheSwagGuy which sometimes has a code, as well as a link to the Blog or Twitter, where codes are usually posted.
- Every day you can earn Swagbucks by looking at the Special Offers. On their main page is a link for "Special Offers". On that page, there is a link for the "No Obligation" offers. If you click through those, at the end you will be rewarded. And, you can do that every day.
- Instead of using your Favorites, search for the site you want to go to. Then, you have a better chance of winning!
- Friday is Mega Swag Bucks Day. On Friday, the amounts rewards are higher. (Supposedly. I swear I earn less on Friday's!)
- Become Swagbucks fan on Facebook. They will post special codes, or code alerts there.
- Follow Swagbucks on Twitter. They will also tweet about codes, and have Twitter Trivia contests.
- Download the Widget. It will alert you if there is a code out.
Now, honestly, it isn't a lot of work. You don't need the Widget....plus, I have it on this site! You don't have to have Facebook or Twitter either. If you have the toolbar, you can get to their Twitter page, as well as the blog. I would download the toolbar, and if you have Facebook, I would fan them. Otherwise, just search!
If you have any questions about Swagbucks, do ask! If not, go sign up!
4/11 Tip of the Day
If you're little one is lucky enough to be spoiled and get lots and lots of clothes from adoring fans, then you should take pictures of those clothes to remember who got you what!
I've told myself this tip time and time again. "If you just would've taken a picture of it, then labeled the picture with who got it for you and for what, then you wouldn't have to go through the baby book, or you brain to try and remember." So, since Grandma bought the little girl some more outfits yesterday, I will be following though on this tip of the day today!

4/10 Tip of the Day
Today's tip comes to you because I'm doing the little girl's laundry. Lots of her laundry. And, I thought I would pass along something that I found out with a new baby.
Regarding clothing, especially onesies and sleep and plays....
Gerber runs small.
Carters (Just One Year) runs between much right between the 2. When the Gerber is getting to small, and the Circo is still too big, Carters works great.
Granimals runs bigger that Gerber and Carters, but not Circo.
Circo (Target brand) runs big.
Trust me, when you have a tiny baby, this is good to know!

4/8 Tip of the day
I had found a recipe online for Lactation cookies, and was intrigued. And then a friend of mine made some, and I tried them, and I was hooked. Even if they don't work, they really are good! I mean it, even some friends of mine said so, and no, they didn't start lactating! So, if you are in the baking mood, and need a little milk boost, check out this really delicious recipe!
4 tbsp water
2 tbsp flaxseed meal
1 c butter
1 c sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c brown sugar
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp Brewer's yeast (be generous)
3 c oats (thick cut is better)
1 c or more chocolate chips (or raisins)
Preheat oven to 375. Mix together flaxseed meal and water and set aside for 3-5 minutes. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Stir flaxseed mixture and add with vanilla to butter mixture.
Beat until blended. Sift dry ingredients together, except oats and chips. Add to butter mixture. Stir in oats then chips. Scoop onto a baking sheet and bake 8-12 minutes.
6 dozen cookies.
Notes: I had my oven at 350, but I needed 10-12 minutes then. I would recommend taking them out when they are just starting to brown on the edges, and then let them bake another minute or so on the cookie sheet. But, do whatever works best for your oven!
I copied this from here, so you know what makes these so special.
"So, what are those special ingredients? Oats, brewer's yeast, and flaxseed meal.
Oatmeal is a frequently recommended food for increasing milk supply, possibly because it contains iron and nursing mothers are often iron deficient. It's also a good source of fiber, and I'm told that if you ask a dairy farmer what they do to increase milk yield, they say that they increase fiber intake.
Brewer's yeast has long been recommended to increase milk supply, though there are some doubts that it does the trick. It does contain lots of B vitamins - another area where nursing mothers may be deficient. At a minimum it might give you a bit more energy. When eaten in large amounts it also might give your baby a "yeasty" smelling diaper, and I'm not sure if it's recommended for mothers who are struggling with thrush. The recipe said 'no substitutions' for this ingredient, but I couldn't find brewer's yeast in time, so used nutritional yeast instead.
Flaxseed oil (this recipe calls for flaxseed meal) is considered by some to be a galactagogue, but I had a hard time finding much on its effects. It does contain Omega-3 fatty acids, and many nursing mothers are deficient in that area because our stores are used in breastmilk. Omega 3s from fish oil are considered a promising therapy for preventing and treating postpartum depression (see the podcast I did on this topic), but the Omega 3s in flaxseed oil are a different form and are not viewed as effective for this purpose."
